In 2013 I am leading several workshops in Iceland exploring the
winter Northern Lights and ice caves and
summertime circumnavigation photo tours around Iceland, and domestic workshops in my home area of the Adirondack Mountains of the USA. As a self-taught photographer, I am keenly aware of what photographers are seeking to learn, and I have a rare depth of local knowledge based on my own personal explorations and photography for months at a time to the same destinations I lead others to. I am an experienced workshop leader, claiming 2 very successful, sold-out photography workshops in Iceland in 2011, and personalized photographic coaching sessions around the Adirondacks during the beautiful autumn season. In sum, these trips I offer will provide a more comprehensive itinerary covering the region we're photographing, paired with professional in-the-field situational instruction, at the overall best value of any you can find in this region you wish to visit. Both my Icelandic summer and winter workshops are a perfect hybrid of sightseeing around Iceland combined with great photo opportunities and in-the-field photography coaching and situational instruction, as far as the participant would like help. The skill level of the trip participant therefore doesn't matter, because I work individually with each person on-location and match my instruction to whatever they need help with given the current scene. We visit several places each day, so it's an exciting sightseeing itinerary for less-serious photographers, yet there's also enough time for personalized photographic coaching covering any topic. Trip participants will best enjoy the trip by having a zeal for the Icelandic landscape and new experiences.
